My works are created from on-site painting or painting from a variety of photographs that I have taken. I always take a variety of photographs in order to study lighting and composition from different angles and at different times of day. Often the paintings are composed from sketches by combining elements from a variety of photographs and by adding additional elements from my imagination.

When painting, I like to take advantage of watercolor's transparency by building layers of color to create deep, rich and vibrant hues. Unlike most watercolor artists, I pay close attention to depth and detail to create my individual style and to add visual interest to the subject.

In addition to landscapes and cityscapes, I enjoy painting pet and home portraits. I interview the owner and observe the home's or pet's unique characteristics and then work with the owner to create a painting that shows the individual personality of the subject.

My work is in the collections of various individuals around the country.
